Otter Cove Children's Museum's Board of Directors provides leadership, direction, and oversight to maximize Otter Cove's ability to achieve its mission by:

Being proactive and visionary in its thinking

Committing to excellence in governance, including regularly monitoring, assessing, and improving its own performance

Following the organization's bylaws, policies, and resolutions

Selecting and evaluating the performance of the Executive Director

Strategic and organizational planning

Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management

Monitoring Otter Cove's strategic plan for programs and services to ensure they are effective and consistent with the mission

Leveraging connections, networks, and resources to fully achieve Otter Cove's mission and help identify connections that can benefit the organization's fundraising and reputational standing
The full Board ordinarily meets monthly and committees will meet as necessary. The role of committees is to guide the Board on various decisions. Each Board member will be appointed to at least one committee annually. Overall time commitment is estimated to be around 2-5 hours per month.
