Community for the Parenting Journey
Cove Connections
Family Workshops
Cove Connections - because parenting is better together!
Parenting is one of the most meaningful (and challenging) jobs there is. Cove Connections is designed to support you in the real, everyday moments, with space to learn, connect, and grow alongside other caregivers in our community.
Each one-hour session blends hands-on family time, expert insight, and honest conversation:
Start together (10–15 minutes): Families kick things off with a simple craft, game, or activity - an easy way to connect and settle in.
Learn while they play (20–25 minutes): Children (ages 3+ and bathroom-independent) head off with a Playworker for supervised play, while caregivers hear from a local professional on topics related to parenting, child development, and family well-being.
Connect and reflect (20–25 minutes): We close with guided or open discussion (time to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another).
This is more than a workshop: it’s a chance to build your village. Whether you’re looking for practical tools, fresh perspective, or simply other parents who get it, Cove Connections offers a welcoming space to show up as you are.
Who it’s for:
Caregivers of children of all ages, from early childhood through the teen years.
Child Participation
Children must be at least 3 years old and bathroom-independent to join Playworker-led play during the session.
Registration
Thanks to a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education, we are able to offer these workshops free of cost. Families that participate in a workshop will be able to play at Otter Cove for the remainder of that day, at no cost.
We are asking interested families to register to ensure we have adequate supplies for all attendees. Registration is capped at 20 participants for each workshop. If you register and your plans change, we ask that you let us know at play@ottercoveff.org as soon as you are able, so we can offer your spot to another family.
Registration links can be found below the Session Schedule & Topics, further down the webpage.
